This is an European system for standardization of pallets, which allows their long-term reuse and free exchange at an international level. Regardless of their manufacturer, the EPAL Euro Pallets of one type (e.g., 800 x 1200 mm) are completely identical and can be freely exchanged between you and your partners or contractors. This provides many benefits both for your business, and for Nature!
Minimize the storage space needed for pallets that are not currently in use.
Minimize the cost of buying pallets.
Free pallet exchange eliminates the need for immediate unloading of goods from the delivery pallets.
Long-term use of each pallet reduces the use of wood and the carbon footprint.
There are currently more than 450 million EURO Pallets and 20 million box pallets in circulation worldwide.
In order to enable the international pallet exchange, the EPAL system has strict quality requirements. Therefore, the pallets can be manufactured and/or repaired only by licensed operations, while the production process adheres to strict technical rules and specifications.
The production process and pallet quality are subject to regular inspections by an international auditing company. You can easily recognize the certified pallet from the imitation by the obligatory markings and distinctive signs of EPAL.
Certified EPAL pallets can easily be distinguished by the mandatory markings. Here is the meaning of the "wheat seal" elements:
The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15) contain developed uniform rules for wooden packaging used in the import of goods. Their purpose is to protect local forests from pests (fungi, insects and microorganisms) transmitted through wood packaging. PALETTEN 24 has the required drying chambers for this process and registration in the register of phytosanitary control, which is renewed annually. Our pallets are processed in strict compliance with the standards, using only thermal treatment, without the use of chemicals. That is why our pallets bear the "wheat seal" with all its requisites - proof of the processing that a pallet has undergone.
* HT is the abbreviation for heat treatment i.e., warming the wood to 56°C in its core for at least 30 minutes.
* Distinctive marks of the wheat seal: the method of treatment, marking of the country, the district and the personal registration number of the company which performed the treatment.
All our products are subjected to two levels of quality control: internal and external. Internal quality control is carried out in all phases of the production process. It starts with the purchase of quality wood from the forestry. Each delivery of logs is checked individually in our production base. Then each step of the production process is subject to strict control. When shipping, the finished pallets pass a final inspection. PALETTEN 24 is a manufacturer of EPAL Euro Pallets - level "yellow bracket".
This privilege is accompanied by the obligation to be subject to monthly surprise inspections by an independent (selected by EPAL Germany) external auditing company. The international auditing company BUREAU VERITAS controls the quality of our EPAL pallets. They ensure compliance with all technical and technological requirements of EPAL, as well as with the overall production process.
